Description & Mission
|
ITS Israel is a non profitable organisation whose goal is to support Israeli transportation stakeholders (i.e. Transportation authorities, Highway operators, public & commercial transport providers, high-tec industries, academics & private consultants) at the development & implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems in Israel & worldwide.
ITS Israel Mission:
-
To promote ITS initiative as integral part of Transportation development policy in Israel.

To establish & develop the Intelligent Transport Systems body of knowledge in Israel by integrating knowledge between ITS experts in Israel & throughout the world.

To seek for technological cooperation between Israeli transportation stakeholders.

To see that larger budget share is dedicated to the development and implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems in Israel.

To act for the establishment of industrial infrastructure required to support the development of Intelligent Transport Systems in Israel.

To promote public familiarisation & appreciation of ITS application as a driver for growing public demand for ITS services. |

Main Achievements

- Establishing a new ITS organisation in Israel.

Organising the 1st ITS Conference in Israel – May 7 2007, Herzlia, Israel.

Launching a series of 12 meetings aimed to establish a Road Map for development & the deployment of ITS in Israel. |

Current and Future actions
|
- Organising the 2nd ITS conference in Israel - 1 May 2007, Herzlia, Israel.
- Conducting the Road Map meetings for development & deployment of ITS in Israel.
- Organising an ITS architecture seminar in Israel that shall be conducted by ERTICO experts
- Develop, in cooperation with Gov. of Israel MOT, PPP procedures to enhance the development of ITS projects in a Private Public Partnership.
