ITS Portugal is launched

In the current European context, Portugal was one of the few countries without an associative structure aiming at the promotion of applications made possible by the modern communication and information systems.

Accordingly, on the 6th December, around 30 entities approved the constitution of the Association -  ITS Portugal.

Mr André Vits from the European Commission and Mr Vincent Blervaque, Acting Director of Development & Deployment, ERTICO - ITS Europe were present at the constitution event.  Mr Rui Camolino was elected to Direct the Association.

It is expected that ITS Portugal will assist the companies and other national entities involved in ITS activities, placing them in the international and European frameworks for promoting and disseminating ITS. These initiatives have clear economical consequences and contributions to the safety and comfort of all citizens.
