ITS United Kingdom offers individual membership to grad students
Creation date: 22 January 2007
ITS United Kingdom, the intelligent transport society for the UK, now offers individual membership to graduate and post-graduate students in the UK, in an effort to improve recruitment into the intelligent transport systems sector.
By offering individual students the same access to information exchange, seminars and conferences, and networking as already offered to the corporate members of the Society, ITS United Kingdom aims to make the students part of the ITS sector community even before they have left full-time education, making it easy for them to assess the wide range of opportunities available in the sector and putting them in touch with the UK’s leading employers.
Professor Mike McDonald of the Transportation Research Group at the University of Southampton, who is the current Chairman of ITS United Kingdom, said “Most approaches to solving our transport problems will involve new technology. Student membership will give new entrants to the ITS sector access to the latest thinking on new technology based systems and services as a platform for their studies and subsequent employment.”
