Network meets in Hannover.

The Network of National ITS Associations met at the Hannover Convention Centre for two days of workshops and meetings.  They took place alongside CeBIT, the largest IT-fair
spread across  20 halls.  This years'  theme was "Destination ITS  - telematics and navigation, automotive solutions, transport and logistics"  which took place in Hall 7 in addition to a forum "CeBIT in Motion".  The meeting was hosted by ITS Network Germany.

The afternoon of 4 March comprised a workshop on Public Transport where Network members were able to learn more about some of the latest ITS applications both in development and already in use in public transport across Europe.  Participants heard about Traffic Data Acquisition with Public Service Vehicles, Real time Information and Multimodal Mobility, the Concept of a Decentralised Platform for Regional Traffic Management, GNS enabled integration of public transportation and public bike riding, Dynamic Information Systems for On-Demand Public Transport in addition to the latest overview of ITS in the Czech Republic.  Presentations were followed by a lively question and answer session.  The afternoon was rounded off by a lively dinner hosted in Hall 7 by ITS Niedersachsen, ITS Germany and IAV GmbH.

The Network meeting on the Friday morning was attended by thirteen Network members who were able to give some insight into activities within their own countries.  In addition, Mr Meyer, CEO of ERTICO presented a range of opportunities where the Network and ERTICO can collaborate together more closely.

The next meeting will take place 4-5 October 2010 in Timisoara, Romania.
